2. We are going to work on SCALES in maps.  Listen to p.50 Audio p.50

• A scale is an equivalence between real kilometres and centimetres in maps.

Each map can have a different scale. ( Una escala es la equivalencia entre kilómetros reales y su representación en centímetros en un mapa. Cada mapa puede tener una escala distinta.)

• On p 50 there are two maps, each map has a different scale.  ( Cada mapa de la p 50 tiene una escala distinta)

• Have you got a ruler at home?
  
  
  ARE you ready to measure centimetres and see real distances in kilometres?
• Do excercice nº1 and nº2 p 51 Tienes una regla en casa, haz los ejercicios 1 y 2 p 51)
• Por ejemplo: si 1 cm equivale a 100 km, 5 cm equivalen a 500 km.
